Description
It has been said that myths are collective dreams and dreams are private myths. In “Dödens ö” (Island of Death) we get a taste of some of Knut Larsson’s private myths, inspired by folk tales and ancient mythology. In beautiful and enigmatic images, he takes us to the other side, where anything is possible and anything can happen. In a series of fairytale comics and illustrations, we meet the fisherman and his wife, both victims of the capricious sea god Triton. All this is framed by the story of the man who arrives in a coffin on the Isle of the Dead and descends to the Underworld’s antiquarian bookshop.
